We're Hiring!
Join the SIS Team as a Math Consultant
Help teachers transform math instruction through professional development, coaching, and hands-on support.
What We Do At SIS4Teachers
Thousands of K–12 schools struggle to meet math performance standards, often unsure of how to improve results. Strategic Intervention Solutions partners with schools to provide professional development, coaching, and classroom resources that help teachers confidently equip their students to excel in math.
As part of this work, our team members go beyond the classroom. They are leading high-quality professional development, coaching teachers in real time, and supporting instruction across K–8 settings.
We’re looking for confident presenters and instructional leaders who can facilitate adult learning, adapt in the moment, and drive meaningful change in schools.
This is not a traditional teaching role, it’s an opportunity to influence systems, build teacher capacity, and lead mathematics learning at a broader level.
Who we are looking for:
Confident presenters and instructional leaders, experts in K-8 mathematics and pedagogy, who are eager to expand their impact beyond one classroom, lead instructional change, and grow into leadership within a dynamic organization.
An ideal candidate will possess...
- Deep understanding of K–8 mathematics, with the ability to apply concepts across grade levels
- Experience presenting to adult learners in professional development or training settings
- Ability to coach teachers and provide clear, actionable instructional feedback
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple schools and instructional contexts
This role is NOT ideal if you...
- Prefer working in a single classroom or grade level
- Are new to teaching or instructional coaching
- Are uncomfortable presenting to groups of adults
- Prefer highly predictable routines or limited travel
What This Role Involves:
- Leading professional development for K–8 teachers
- Coaching teachers in classrooms using a variety of coaching models
- Traveling to multiple school districts throughout the Metro Detroit area
- Adapting instruction and coaching based on teacher and school needs
- Managing multiple school partnerships and schedules
This is an 11-month role aligned to the school year.
Consultants work throughout the academic year and June, with a structured company shutdown from July 1–July 31.
Location & Travel Requirements
Candidates must be based in the Metro Detroit area or willing to relocate prior to start date. Relocation assistance is not provided.
This role requires regular travel to school districts throughout Southeast and Mid-Michigan, including the Metro Detroit area and surrounding regions. Some engagements require extended travel time and overnight stays.
Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with SIS policy. When necessary, hotel accommodations are arranged and covered by SIS.
Work Structure
Consultants typically work in schools 3–4 days per week during peak seasons.
SIS provides at least one dedicated office day per week for planning, communication, and internal work.
Office days are structured workdays focused on preparation, collaboration, and internal projects.
An SIS Consultant/Coach is...
Confident
Able to lead professional development for groups of educators and coach teachers in real-time classroom settings.
A Self-Starter
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple school partnerships and responsibilities independently.
A Strong Communicator
Builds strong relationships with teachers and administrators while providing clear, actionable instructional feedback.
