I love technology, and I do use my iPad and computer for a lot of things, however there’s just certain times that call for a good old fashioned piece of paper and pencil. If you are like me, you are always taking notes for various meetings, brainstorming sessions, or just jotting down ideas on your next to do list – usually in different notebooks.
However, for me, the paper/pencil system falls apart when you go to look for that notebook or that one sticky note, and you can’t find it. I’m constantly looking in my bag (which bag did I have that day??), on my desk, or next to my computer to find that important information I really need.
Back in December, I was at one of our
Math Initiative Workshop schools doing job-embedded coaching with some teachers. I couldn’t help but notice a special notebook that one of the teachers was using during our meeting. I couldn’t figure out why there was a QR code on every single page that she was writing on.
Usually, I thought,
QR codes are used for advertising for a company, website, or special link, and I had no idea why a company would put a QR code on every single page in this notebook. Additionally, at the bottom of each page, there were all of these symbols that reminded me of Lucky Charms (horseshoe, diamond, etc.). When I looked at the spine of the notebook it wasn’t metal like you would normally see, it was plastic. So after stalking her notebook during the whole meeting, I could take it anymore and just asked her what she was writing on. When she told me, I knew that my note-taking was taking a revolutionary change!
This notebook is amazing! It not only lets you scan the page with your phone and use the Lucky Charms symbols (which you pre-program) to send the documents to various destinations in the cloud (Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive, etc.), it also allows you to wipe the notes clean for reuse when the notebook gets full by putting it in the microwave. I could hardly contain my excitement, so I bought this for all of the
Strategic Intervention Solutions consultants as a Christmas gift!
If one of your resolutions this year is to get organized, or you’re tired of losing those pieces of paper, you need this!
