Have you heard of Number Talks? What do you do when you are working with Littles that aren't really ready to build number sense yet? Simple answer: NUMERACY TALKS!

Numeracy talks follow the same principles as number talks, but don't utilize actual numbers. Instead, numeracy talks focus on understanding of quantity and the development of conservation to 5, 10 and 20 in different modalities.

Doing numeracy talks in your classroom on the appropriate level for just 3-5 times a week, 7-10 minutes at a time, can help build a strong foundation for numeracy development in your littles!
